Safety Guidelines for the 2021 Summer Season

General Safety Guidelines:

The Festival will prioritize the safety and comfort of its patrons, artists, and community and adapt to current and anticipated circumstances with the following safety protocols:

Reduced Performance Times and No Intermission: Performance times are approximately 90
minutes with no intermission and 60 minutes with no intermission for Charlotte’s Web.

Important Update: All live/in-person evening performance times start at 6:30pm. Charlotte’s Web live/in-person performance times start at 10:00am.

Masks: In our INDOOR spaces, actors’ union safety agreements require that face masks are to be worn before, during, and after the performance, properly covering your nose and mouth, even if fully vaccinated.  GOOD NEWS: you will no longer be required to wear a mask when OUTDOORS at PSF.  For our OUTDOOR performances, please bring a mask in the event you need to enter one of our buildings to use the restrooms as masks are still strictly required in our indoor spaces.

Social Distancing: We will maintain physical distancing in our audience seating in the indoor and outdoor spaces. Guests are asked to follow the signage and ground markers when onsite. Audience seating has been socially distanced to ensure 6′ between patrons in all directions while seated during a performance.

Hand Sanitizing Stations: We ask that all visitors, volunteers, and staff wash/sanitize their hands when they arrive at our indoor and outdoor facilities. Hand sanitizing stations are available in various locations throughout the indoor and outdoor areas of the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts, and the exterior Air Products Open Air Theatre outdoor box office.

Enhanced Cleaning: Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival has increased cleaning protocols of all high-touch and high-traffic areas. All touch points, such as door handles, push plates, railings, and countertops, will be frequently wiped down with disinfectant.

Actor/Audience Distance: Seating begins a minimum of 10′ from the actors to ensure a safe distance between audience and artists.

Enhanced Filtration System: Our HVAC system is set to provide fresh air throughout the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts. We are running with the maximum percentage of fresh air and air changes per hour that our system can handle in the Main Stage theatre, using MERV 13 filters to provide enhanced filtration. We are combining these engineering controls with administrative controls such as reduced capacity and one-show days to ensure that the theater is properly ventilated and as safe as possible for our patrons, volunteers and staff.

Directional Signage and Ground Markings: Physical distancing is supported through the use of directional signage as well as the guidance of staff and volunteers.

Paperless E-ticket Options: We encourage our patrons to choose this option for printing your tickets at home, and/or showing your tickets on your smart device when you arrive at the theatre.

Digital Season Programs: Printed programs will not be available this season; programs can be accessed online via PSF’s website or by scanning the QR code with your smart device when you arrive at the theatre.

Stay Safe. Stay Home: Please stay home if you are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, have a temperature higher than 100.4 degrees, or are observing a quarantine due to COVID-19 illness or potential exposure.

Exchange Fees: Fees to exchange tickets will be waived for all cases of illness.

Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival remains committed to the health and safety of our community and adheres to all requirements and regulations set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the CDC, and Actors’ Equity Association. Our current health climate is ever-changing. These are the current guidelines as of May 2021. Subject to change.
